Tube Innovation Day invited to Iran

After stops in China, the USA, and Germany, the Tube Innovation Days visited Tehran, Iran on November 7 and 8, 2016. This time, FOERSTER hosted the event together with their Iranian representation KAVOSH AZMOON. More than 100 participants accepted the invitation and learned about processes related to tubes on the two days. At the small but excellent trade fair, the thirteen partner companies presented their comprehensive range of products, which together cover all the areas of tube manufacturing and processing up to testing methods and logistics. In addition, the visitors were able to have personal consultations and receive the latest industry news during informative technical presentations.

Since the Tube Innovation Days are held several times a year at different locations throughout the world, it is possible to specifically address regional particularities and topics, such as in this case oil and gas extraction. The specialist network offers customers a single contact partner for all processes in tube manufacturing and processing. From the first to the last step in the process chain, customers not only profit from the core competencies of the individual firms but also from their close cooperation: Individual processes and interfaces are perfectly coordinated with each other along the entire manufacturing chain.

"A successful trade fair that serves as a great platform for establishing further business opportunities in Iran"

A. Pablo Weiss; Project Manager Laser Tube Cutting; Trumpf

The supporting program of the Tube Innovation Days included keynote speeches of the individual companies in addition to the trade fair. In these 10-minute presentations, the partner companies had the opportunity to give the audience an idea of their product and service portfolio and to inform them about current topics. These exciting presentations yielded many points of reference for further discussions and detailed consultations at the stand. The resonance at the individual stands was very positive, since the visitors showed great interest and approached the companies with sometimes very specific questions. It became apparent that the potential customers were very interested above all in tube manufacturing. However, the visitors also indicated that topics such as logistics within production processes will play an increasingly important role in the near future and there is still a lot of potential.

"A thoroughly interesting and informative event. It was our first contact with the Iranian market and thus a valuable experience."

Patrick Müller; Sales & Project Planning, Sales & Development; Fehr Lagerlogistik AG

To gain practical knowledge of the Iranian market as well, KAVOSH AZMOON also organized a company tour of Safa Rolling and Pipes Mills Company for the participating partner companies. The rolling mill founded in 2000 has specialized in manufacturing tubes for the oil and gas industry as well as for water supply. Up to 1.5 million tons of steel are processed there annually. The visitors were impressed by the size of the mill, although the effects of the recent trade embargo as well as the low oil price, which is currently an immense burden on the industry, could be clearly seen and felt here as well.

During the two days, however, it was also noticeable that Iran is in an economic boom again and that the visitors to the Tube Innovation Days showed great interest in technical further developments and process improvements. Thus many a partner company in the specialist network was able to arrange for and substantiate initial project measures directly at their stand.

"An ideal time for this event, because the Iranians are now in an optimistic mood and full of pent-up demand after the long embargo."

Dr. Rainer Sailer; Sales Director; FOERSTER

In 2017 as well, it will be possible to visit the Tube Innovation Days again and get to know the individual companies. The objective is to establish the Tube Innovation Days as a platform on which visitors can exchange information and at which the partner companies can present uniform, jointly developed concepts. This is all with the intention of offering customers the best possible solution for their requirements.
