1st Tube Innovation Days 2016 in Highest number of participants in DitzingenThe TRUMPF Laser- und Systemtechnik GmbH in Ditzingen was the host of the Tube Innovation Days – trade fair on tubes - on January 20th and 21st, 2016, which took place for the first time in Germany after China and the US. With 250 participants from around the world, a record participation was recorded. They were able to learn in connection with a “market place” at the stands of now thirteen partner companies about the wide range of services to all processes of manufacturing, processing and machining, measurement and testing technology as well as logistics of the tubes. In addition, there was the opportunity to visit high informative specialist lectures, take part in a TRUMPF factory tour and establish contacts at an evening event and maintain the ex-change of views.The thirteen top technology partners of the Tube Innovation Days pro-vide their customers with a holistic contact for the entire process chain around tubes. This gives them customized and multidisciplinary solutions for the weld seam preparation, roll forming, laser machining, pickling, dressing, checking, inline measuring and monitoring, sawing, bending, measuring, transporting, warehouse logistics and lubricoolant from a single source. The partner com-panies bundle together an extensive knowledge grown over decades around the subject of tubes. High interesting guest and specialist lecturesThe visitors got copiously the opportunity to take individually and inten-sively legal advice as well as to find tailor-made solutions for their assignments of tasks. At the beginning of the two days of exhibition, there were guest lec-tures of Bengt-Henning Maas, CEO of Poppe + Potthoff Präzisionsstahlrohre, Werther, who spoke on the networked tube production, as well as of Ulrich Schneider, department manager lightweight technology at the IPA Fraunhofer-Institut für Produktionstechnik und Automatisierung, Stuttgart. He took on the subject „Industry 4.0“, which is currently the phrase on everyone’s lips.Then interesting topics to the themes of tube manufacturing, tube pro-cessing, measuring and checking as well as finishing, handling and logistics were treated in connection with specialist lectures of all partners of the Tube Innovation Days. In addition, the partner companies presented their program mix. In parallel, a market place took place, where the partners of the Tube Innovation Days executed detailed advice and machines could be tested in practice.On the evening of January 20th, 2016 an evening event at TRUMPF in the „Blautopf“ offered the opportunity to discuss the seen and heard in Ditz-ingen, to maintain the exchange of views, to intensify existing contacts and to make new ones. Live music as well as an extensive culinary offer completed the evening. Next Tube Innovation Days 2016 in DüsseldorfThe Tube Innovation Days should establish also in the future a platform on the subject of tubes, to permanently exchange and develop together. The aim is still to introduce homogeneous concepts which go beyond their own areas of partner companies and can be customized according to require-ments.
